Business development companies (BDCs) mostly invest in small and medium sized companies that are typically overlooked by banks, providing investors with higher than average dividends by avoiding taxation at the corporate level. This allows them to pass along ordinary income and capital gains directly to the shareholder.
Most BDCs are publicly traded and pay dividend yields ranging from 7% to 14% annually. The purpose of this site is to provide investors with access to research on BDCs as well as comparative analyses so that investors can choose a BDC that fits their investment needs.
